Re: The Beautiful Game (The All Inclusive Soccer Thread)
I've marginalized anti football (soccer) people.
It just doesn't matter, ie Ann Coulter. I haven't heard her name in at least 3 years. She's irrelevant and I pay attention.
The US is through the group of death and they had their chances to win the group. I'm happy. Could it be better? Sure, but the US didn't get crushed by Germany and Portugal did.
All kinds of people have whined about ties but the beginning of the tournament is a group round robin not a game in itself. The two teams that compete the best move forward. Happy that our squad is in the knockout.

Not nearly long enough from FIFA.
Excellent work.

One of the better things about soccer is how they don't give a shit about celebrations.

Coulter's article was overall ridiculous but you have to agree she did make a couple of fair points.

Rafa's international career likely ends with conceding a pk that eliminates his team from the World Cup. Couldn't have happened to a better guy...

Re: The Beautiful Game (The All Inclusive Soccer Thread)
As soon as I learned that Mexico had a special name for the fifth game of the tournament that they haven't reached since 1986, I was like: "Oh...no."
What are the chances that there's a final that's not either: UEFA vs. UEFA or UEFA vs. Brazil?

What channels in the US show soccer? Like MLS or Premier League or whatever? I think I'm gonna try and get into it.

NBCSN shows the premier league and some MLS, ESPN shows some MLS, Fox and FS1 show the champions league, and I think MLS might be moving from nbc to fox next year as well. You definitely want to get into English games and the champions league, great to watch.

Do these leagues typically play over the summer or is it year around? Do they play during the week or is it mostly a weekend thing? So many questions.
