Re: Best Decade Tournament - 70s: Voting: 9-12 (6/28-6/29)
Well, since Stip was wrong yet again, I'm not sure how we should play this. By my count there were no ties at the time that Stip wanted to close the round. Numbers and Stip advance. However, he did say voting was still open until 9 pm EST. I'm fine closing the round with Numbers and Stip advancing.
However, if we're keeping it open, Strat's vote puts numbers v d,t at a tie.

Hey man, Im just doing what stip told me to do. The only time I ever hear from the guy is when he wants my power to break a tie. Kind of hurts you know?

I'm fine either way.numbers wrote:I say just keep it open until 9.
Just don't want another fiasco on our hands, and technically, we weren't tied and you won. AGAIN.

Well if I had been a gentleman and abstained like you did, we would have been tied.durdencommatyler wrote:I'm fine either way.numbers wrote:I say just keep it open until 9.

But there was no reason for you to abstain. You did the right thing.numbers wrote:Well if I had been a gentleman and abstained like you did, we would have been tied.durdencommatyler wrote:I'm fine either way.numbers wrote:I say just keep it open until 9.

Everything else seems fine.
At this point one match is in a tie.

Maybe we should address the voting for yourself/abstaining thing. It's not unsportsmanlike to vote for yourself if you legitimately think your team is better. When I'm matched against someone whose team is clearly better than mine, I vote for them. Maybe this should be the rule of thumb to avoid awkwardness.

Team, Jorge. This always been my philosophy.
I abstained this round for other reasons. It's the only time I've ever done so in a tournament. But it was the right thing to do.

Stip, I know a guy who says he's figured out numbers and what they're for. Maybe he can help you out...
