Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
You're forgetting that they've hit Europe 7 out of the last 9 years. I would say, unless they experience a decline in ticket sales there this year or decide to record another new album already (or "personal reasons"), Europe dates will happen. 2008 was probably due to Backspacer recording, 2011 was PJ20 + Canada and Latin/South America and they hit Europe the previous 2 years; they've been every other year since 2006.

Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
Can anyone substantiate a potential 2015 Canadian tour?
Any solid rumors or even solid reason to believe this might happen?

By the time 2015 rolls around, it will be 6 months since they last played Berlin, so I think theyre a lock to get at least one show.

They could easily find great contestants at the Wealthy Eddie Vedder shows.

Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
That was during the Bush era, when EV had Stone tell Kelly Curtis that they wouldn't play TX due to 'personal differences'... They skipped Dallas (for example) for ten years, even though Big D had some pretty great crowd responses by some very loyal fans in the 90's, in 2000, and in 2k3. When EV finally returned (solo), it was visually obvious that he was surprised by how well the crowd responded to his 'slight return'... "Ohhhh, the potential!" Full band was back in 2013... Trying to make up for all the lost time and money. Morals and politics be damned...CopperTom wrote:Lol. This still cracks me up.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Official *please play the south* thread.

Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
They sold out pretty much the biggest venues they've ever played here (San Siro). So that decline that not happen. I'll prepare for PJ Euro 15twoheadedboy wrote:You're forgetting that they've hit Europe 7 out of the last 9 years. Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
I really think and hope for the first time they just take a break and disappear. No shitty festival appearences, no half cooked tours of europe or the americas. Take 2015 off, work on a record and make 2016 a big year since they will probably go into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. The mini tours they started doing in 2007 have worn out there welcome IMHO.

It may be an off year, but no way they'll work on a new album.lowlight79 wrote:I really think and hope for the first time they just take a break and disappear. They'll have played 55 shows over 13 months between Oct. 2013 and October 2014. They won't be playing more than that any time soon, that's for sure.

Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
While I agree that 2015 will be a down year, recent history (the past ten years) suggests there will be at least a one leg tour that's three weeks long with 12 or 13 shows. Pearl Jam doesn't quite do off-years like they used to. If it is a quiet year, I'd guess it will look something like 2007, 2008 or 2012. They don't go an entire year without playing shows anymore.
Maybe they play Lollapalooza again since they were heavily rumored this year. It would make sense to hit Toronto at the same time (by that time it will be four years since their last Toronto show) and maybe back out to some of the outdoor amphitheaters in the US. Also, isn't there already some rumors of Euro shows around festival season next year? I could see a more festival-centric Euro run next year a la 2010.
I'm surprised by how many tickets PJ has sold for the fall US dates. St Louis, Detroit, Moline, St. Paul and Denver are all basically sold out. Back in 2003 these cities weren't close to sell outs. I'm sure they keep playing a handful of shows each year if they keep selling tickets like this.
