As much as I'd love to see Columbia upset Brazil a Germany/Brazil match with a shot at the finals on the line sounds amazing.

You would think that the best players in the world would realize that they look stupid as shit on instant replay when they flop all the time.

tonight's game is a fine exampleAngus wrote:Apart from the Croatia penalty, have they gotten much? Exactly. I can think of 4 instances where Brazil have benefitted.Heathen wrote:tonight's game is a fine exampleAngus wrote:Apart from the Croatia penalty, have they gotten much? And early on against Chile there should have been at least 2 Brazilian yellows.

Correct. I'm pretty disgusted with what we've seen yesterday. And it's absolutely horrible Neymar ends up being the victim of something his teammates and ref have started.Heathen wrote:tonight's game is a fine exampleAngus wrote:Apart from the Croatia penalty, have they gotten much? True. If the ref had issued a card early in then we wouldn't have had so many niggling tackles and as you say Neymar would probably not have been seriously injured.

Re: The Beautiful Game (The All Inclusive Soccer Thread)
This laxism has been incredibly prevalent during all the tournament and it's by far the worst thing about this WC. This isn't just this particular ref and this isn't just about Brazil, there has to be FIFA guidelines behind it because I don't think all the refs suddenly forgot that they have to give out yellow cards for these fouls. If they were trying to protect their fucking show by making sure there aren't too many star players suspended for the final rounds then congrats because it led to the absence of the one of the few Brazilian players who actually plays football (although I would take his injury with a grain of salt, wasn't he also injured after Chile?).LetMeSleep wrote:True. And of course on top of that there is an extra layer of laissez-faire for Brazil since they're the host. Even with this WC's laxism any other team would have had a few more yellow cards and possibly reds in this game. It's unbelievable that the only cards they received were for T.Silva's stupid move on the keeper and J.Cesar's foul in the box, which would have been a red any other keeper.

I really wish Costa Rica had won that, definitely one of the stories of the tournament.
Credit where it's due to LvG for that sub with Tim Krul. However, we'll now have nothing but Manchester United fans bleating about their new found optimism for the coming weeks.
Really want to see a Germany-Argentina final now.
