I feel like this gets less interesting when the same few artists appear on every single person's list. I probably wouldn't have taken anything by The Clash if I would've thought they'd have so many songs chosen. I didn't think they would though after (I think) I was the only one to take a song by them in the 70s tournament (even though their 1977-1979 output is way better than their 1980-1985 output).

Next time we'll make it so an artist can only go once per decade.

I think we should do that for the 90s and 00s. I can understand it for the 60s, with that being for the most part before all of our times, and even for the 70s as well. But I have to imagine everyone involved was seriously into music for at least some chunk of the 90s, so we should be able to turn out picks from 160 artists.

Make it so a genre can only be picked once per decade.

You can't pick songs that utilize instruments that have been used on a song that has already been picked.

This hints at what I think makes these tournaments such an interesting exercise. Is the strategy to compile as many of my 10 favorite songs as I can, or is it to draft a team that I think has the best chance of getting the most votes from the crowd? Does the genre of the potential pick come into play at all (Hmm, if my first two picks were both rock songs, do I balance it out with some soul)? Does taking the 5th Led Zeppelin (or R.E.M. or Prince or the Stones or...) that is obviously still a great song in its own right somehow mean less than picking what might be the only song taken by another artist?

I say we continue as is through the next decades then immediately start over with Laments idea. I could do this forever.

Here's another wrinkle I'd like to throw out there - 10 picks, but each pick has to be from a different year within that decade.

Now, I know, I know. But this song, I firmly believe could bring about world peace. Everywhere I've been in the entire world, when this song comes on, everyone in the place starts dancing and singing and clapping hands. I've made a million bar friends to this song. Sure it's cheesy as all fuck. But it's got that special something. I have more great memories soundtracked by this song than almost any other.

I haven't been there in ages.. love the phoenix.. Every time I'm on it I feel like it's gonna derail, I'm gonna get ejected from the seat, or get beheaded as I'm halfway ejected

There was a new bobsled coaster but didn't feel like dealing w the 45 min wait
I love the phoenix too,

That and the watermelon Italian ice :li:

I also enjoy the Flyers...especially snapping the rails or whipping the sails or whatever they call it.

Can I get a poll option for my last pick? I'm too lazy to pick between 4-5 songs.
