Re: Sigur Rós
But my first real deliberate listen. I've heard all the early records though I'm not super familiar with them.

Re: Sigur Rós
I finally sat down with them about 2 months ago. I, too, have heard various recordings of them over the year but it just recently hit me how incredible it is. Sometimes you just have to wait for the universe to give you the nudge, you know?
yea. Im excited to see them in a few weeks. However, I am less than pleased with the venue I will be seeing them at. 1st Bank Center. i feel like it should be at red rocks or in a theater of sorts.

The strange thing is you often read on the internet all their songs are in Hopelandic. Which is wrong. Only a few songs on Agaetis Byrjun & all of () is in Hopelandic. Rest is Icelandic (or the one, All Alright, in English).Strat wrote:Hopelandic. Fascinating.

I love the album but nothing grips me like the first time the first few notes of Vaka really hit me. Once you've digested it watch the video.VinylGuy wrote:the first track of () is beautiful.

Just a thing: could people check whether the videos they're putting up are actually ones we haven't seen before?Stickman wrote:

Harmless is crabby lately:(
Also, im kind of hesitant to see them live. Yes, I know it will be incredible and quite moving. However, I kind of want to keep Sigur ros as this incredible music that comes from a mythical place that no human can actually create. I dont want that spoiled by seeing it performed live?
Or something.

For me it seemed incredible that it could be performed live and made it that much more impressive.Strat wrote:Harmless is crabby lately:(
