No, I haven't... Not even tonight, because you decided to make an exception to the 4 hour rule. I was out of pocket, and you chose one of my three finalists. I'm actually glad you did, though. I may wait and go last, just to see how this shakes out before I pick. It's a tough call on this last one. My brain says to go one way, but my heart says go another...

Great picks, everyone. I was going to end with a Jane's Addiction song, but Knee Tunes included one, so I'm going to go with a band that should not escape notice. Setzer would go on my very short list of great guitarists. One of the best ever.

You guys are way more obscure than me with the 80's. It was my first decade of living through the music, and for me it was mainly hits, but I had a hell of a cross-section. I wouldn't be able to do this with the 60's or 70's; I didn't live it, so I have no frame of reference. See you all in the 90's for a real battle royale...

Some of my leftovers:

Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes
Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight
Phil Collins - Against All Odds
Dire Straits - Money For Nothing
Dire Straits - So Far Away
Bruce Springsteen - My Hometown
Willie Nelson & Ray Charles - Seven Spanish Angels
George Strait - Amarillo By Morning
Brooks and Dunn - Neon Moon
Whitesnake - Here I Go Again
Whitesnake - In The Still Of The Night
Journey - Don't Stop Believing
Motley Crue - Wild Side
U2 - New Year's Day
Nirvana - Lovebuzz
Jane's Addiction - Mountain Song
Soundgarden - Loud Love
Run DMC - My Adidas
LL Cool J - I'm Bad
Eazy E - Boyz N The Hood; remix

...and the difficult final decision left out this bad boy:

For what it's worth, I was only eight when the 80s ended. I just got super into going back and discovering all of the stuff that was outside of my very limited world view.

OK, I mainly went with what I liked most when I was there... ages 4-14.

Marty McFly had a much bigger impact on my desire to become a musician than I should really admit. He was the epitome of cool to me when I was like ten years old. He still kind of is...

F-Yeah, man... remember when Marvin Berry phoned his cousin Chuck? Marty's influence is woven into the very fabric of rock-n-roll.

I played my cassette that soundtrack to death. Side one was all of the contemporary stuff, and side two was all of the fifties stuff. So great. Time Bomb Town by Lindsey Buckingham is another awesome song from that movie.

I wanted a metallica, U2 and weird al song. Probably (given what was taken) One, A Sort of Homecoming, and One More Minute

Other 80s songs

Joan Jett - Light of Day (last thing cut)
The Communards - Don't Leave Me This Way (second to last thing cut)
Springsteen - Tunnel of Love or The River
Motorhead - Ace of Spades (surprised that was never taken)
Grateful Dead - I Will Survive
Stevie Nicks - Edge of 17
Pointer Sisters - Neutron Dance
Sousixe and the Banshees - Peek A Boo
Bangles - Walk Like An Egyptian
Romeo Void - Never Say Never
Moody Blues - Your Wildest Dreams

I'd have been just as thrilled with a team full of these songs. Almost as, anyway.
