Why would you want another long term potentially awful contract? You already took on Prince Fielder and you're trying to deal Andrus
Lester has been a beast. No reason he shouldn't get a big contract and feel comfortable about it. We need a good vet pitcher badly. Especially with Harrison's career in jeopardy.
As for Prince I will wait and see with him. Incredibly durable (until this year) and a ballpark that fits his skill set. Let's see.
As for Andrus I love the guy so I'm ok with it. Overpaid yes but I doubt we move him.

That's the case with pretty much everyone, especially players of his age/body type: he's incredibly durable until suddenly he's not.
As I re-read that and look at Fielder's Baseball Reference page, it pains me a little to realize that he's one day younger than I am and I just used the term "players of his age".

I was surprised he didn't ascend into heaven when Alexei came in to replace him. Based on the way MLB and Fox have been treating him, I can only assume they were surprised as well.

No, there's a video of it online, I just dont have the energy to search. Buck just walked in to the clubhouse with a camera crew pre-game, but soon before the game. It was obvious it was unexpected by the reactions of the players. When he walked up to Jeter, he just said "hey we've got a game, you need to go" or something to that effect. Buck, whitefaced, then threw it back to the panel back at the field.
Also, it's an absolute disgrace that Gwynn was not acknowledged last night. MLB should be ashamed, I don't expect class from fox but I would expect MLB would have at least mentioned him.
