He said he wants to go home and pretty much acknowledged he's not going to win a ring next year. Tempering expectations already.

Its pretty funny that ESPN drives the LeBron bandwagon and he chooses SI to break the story.

Probably not. It's top ten protected.

If he had done something 4 years ago like he did this time with the SI article, I think the reaction he would have received from Cleveland would have been different. Probably would have been hostile (come on, it's Cleveland), but less so.

There will always be a subset of Cleveland fans that won't forgive him. They should get over it.

It's cool to have him back, especially now that the team is getting interesting again with a coach who sounds like he knows what he's doing. But I'm not celebrating until there's a parade downtown.

I hate that he's going to make Dan Gilbert truckloads more money.

You think they'll sink that low? It's still a nice place to play. There's guys they can get that are good enough to make the playoffs in the East.

Fwiw, which isn't much, all of my social media is full of broken hearted Heat fans wishing LBJ well. So far it's been a really classy reaction. But I'm sure espn will find a way to focus on how awful Miami fans supposedly are.

Good for Lebron and good for Cleveland. He needed to get away for a few years and grow as a player and as a person. Sucks for Heat fans though.

Miami fans have every right to be pissed for the next few months, but then they need to move on.

As a C's fan, I can't help but be excited that Boston played a part in sending James back to "nowhere land," while also dealing a blow to Pat Riley, an old rival from the 80s, who, of course, who never passed up a chance to shit all over Boston.

I do feel badly for any true Heat fans, such as 4/5, who stuck with the team during the good times and bad. Losing a top tier free agent like that sucks, but that's how the league is structured...for now.

Right on all accounts here. So, do the Heat try to salvage or do they go into rebuild mode?
