I thought those were were the right ones for NFY. As in my friends don't scream EEEDDDDDDDIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE when they see me.
No clue about IMT though, except I'm sure 'newspapers on the floor (or street, one of them anyway)' is in there somewhere

For "Not For You" I've heard Ed himself mix it up and change the lyrics around a bit.
Listening to this godlike version he sings:
My friend call me Ed
they call me
My friends call me...
Mmmm, that's a top 5 Pearl jam song for me.

Amen. A lot of what makes their bridges work is how they transition back in, and Insignificance is perfect. Out of the bridge and into the chorus progression, it sounds like the end of the world.--- wrote:insignificance represents pearl jam's bridge high-water mark, unquestionably

This one too. Binaural has lots of great moments like this, in addition to the one I mentioned above. A favorite of mine is the way the bridge in Gods' Dice hits pause on the stampede the song utilizes for the rest of its running time, hovering like the dice in air for a moment before it crashes back in.knee tunes wrote:probably my favorite is

Re: Pearl Jam's Iconic Sound and... THE BRIDGE
question for musicians/songwriters here: is there a way to formulate a bridge? like if the song is in a major key, is the bridge supposed to be in minor?
as far as my favorite, i think severed hand stands out the most. granted, i love the entire song, but the bridge fits so perfectly.
also, didnt ev say evacuation had 3 bridges?
