2006 San Francisco, CA - Bill Graham Auditorium - 7/15-7/18

Post by hlniv »

I'm going to be listening to this set of shows today as I work in isolation on a project. I know at some point Stone said one of these might have been their best show ever at the time, but I'm not sure I've listened to all of these complete previously.

The 2006 tour was their last great tour, and these three nights in SF were certainly highlights of that tour. Let's see....

I love night 1. Best Bushleaguer ever. Night 3 is the popular one / Stone show. Night 2 starts with a thud but I can't recall much else.

I was at the 2nd show, flew across country to visit my brother and see them play. It was particuarly funny when Ed totally fucked up the first track. It was more tolerable back then because they didn't fuck up all time.

Ok... merge please.

But, this is more about discussing this set of shows and less about the fact that I'm listening to it.

Bushleaguer has really grown into one of my favorites. This performance only cements that. You are absolutely correct

I just got through this sequence from night 2. It is superb.

Bushleaguer is fucking awesome. One of my favorite bass lines in any PJ song.

I did not give the 2006 tour it's due in the past. I haven't listened to much live PJ in a while but I'm giving Night 3 a whirl and it's phenomenal.

That's a stellar show, I might give it another listen again soon.

Married July 1st, 2006. Wife's favorite city is SF. We delayed honeymoom until these shows. Hit up nights 2 and 3. Chatted up Matt Morris and Matt Cain at one of 'em (for the baseball fans here). Great shows. Which night was Watchtower?

That is badass. I didn't take Cain for a PJ fan. Very cool.

My only trip to a ballpark besides Fenway was seeing Matt Cain pitch 7 innings of 2 run ball against the Rockies in 2006.

How was the park? I've always thought that looked like the best park in MLB.

I went to SF nights 2 and 3. First row on the balcony.... Night 3 is my favorite PJ show I've been to (besides my first), and probably my 2nd favorite boot (next to MSG II 1998). Night 2 starts with a horrible flub of Sometimes... Night 3, everything is just solid. My favorite versions of Sad, Light Years... others I'm not thinking of. I think it's because they took a night off after night 2.

My first PJ show was the Sitting on the Dock of Bay show.... Murfreesboro in 1994 I believe.
