You really believe that? It's the media's fault... seriously.... it's not the dickhead on a soapbox who's preaching about war in a foreign country when his very own country is killing people that day and he's been playing concerts for the very fucking President in charge?
Seems a bit ... hmmm... insincere. I think the guy realizes people think he's a hypocrite. In his own 8th grade brain way, he's trying to say "no I'm not!", not knowing he's actually showing he is.

Only making the observation that I've seen more video of civilian casualties in Gaza this week than I've seen about civilian deaths associated with American bombings in years. Its very upsetting to see four kids blown up and their parents freaking out. I wish there was more coverage when we do it maybe things would change. I'm not overly concerned about Eddies ability to express his feelings. His rant seemed rather banal but I don't have the expectation that every time someone speaks on a subject they blow me away with their insight. War sucks. I agree. Next.
Guys, the real issue here isn't war, it's whether or not a bunch of mid-twenty to mid-forty year old dudes on an internet message board are doing a good job of holding a rich, aging, past-his-prime rock star to task for the fairness (or lack thereof) of his on-stage political views.
Keep your eyes on the prize, boys. I believe in every last one of you. You can do it.

You sound like stip.
Eddie wrote a letter on the subject because of his statement at a concert. He posted the letter at a fan forum. I'm simply saying... once again... this. guy. is. a. hypocrite. He basically knows people think he is, look at the title of the letter.
He can be right on a subject - like war is wrong..... and be a hypocrite. I say this because he only speaks of the issue when it doesn't offend his buddy who he fund raises for, who's sitting in the big white house. Who is also executing a war and killing civilians.

War does suck. I just like it when someone goes off on a tirade for their to be sincerity behind it. If he's worried about loss of life and war being bad, he probably shouldn't be supporting Obama.

I'm not really aware of who Eddie's friends are, who if anyone he raises money for or if he never criticizes Obama or whatever. I'm not saying I'm above that sort of thing I just haven't paid attention.
Meanwhile the Bring Pearl Jam to Israel fb group is not deleted, instead turning into a cesspool of left wing v right wing v plain idiots spewing venom and used up rhetoric at each other and at some aging rock star they obsess over. Hear the sirens motherfuckers.

That would be a great comeback if it were rooted in any truth whatsoever. But then again, you've pretty much established that telling someone they're "like stip" is your go-to insult. Anyways, you sound like a spurned lover. What's your point? We get it. Ed is hypocritical. Most people here agree to some extent or another. The only difference is not everyone gets their panties in a bunch over it like you do. Some of us really don't give a fuck whether or not some fifty year old rock star's on-stage commentary is "fair and balanced." Hell, a lot of us don't really give a fuck about what Pearl Jam does in 2014 to any real extent. If you really expect his commentary to be "fair," well, then on a board with more than a few idiots, you're quite possibly the biggest one. But then again, that wouldn't surprise me at all. You probably are. For a guy who is "over" Ed's shit, you certainly pop up every single time there's something to whine about.

There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

Actuall neil was kind of a pussy about it. "Safety concerns" as the official reason for cancellation. He could have spoke up.
Well, Ed could have scheduled a concert just to cancel it but, you know, pussy

The proper response is that 'you sound like stip' is not an insult, Lament. Don't make me take this out on the Stevie wonder thread
