Foxy shazam last Friday at Mill City Nights. The first set was their new album Gonzo in its entirety. It blew. The second set was everything else, and it was fun.

Arctic Monkeys at Summerfest on Wednesday. When did this band get so big here stateside? The young folks really dig this new album, I guess. Looks like my days of seeing them at First Avenue are over.

Please elaborate. I've never seen them live but I'm sure it's hilarious

it was so loud that you could physically feel the sound being pushed out of their 15 or so amp stacks. the venue wouldn't let you inside unless you took some of their earplugs. half the audience left before they were finished because they just couldn't endure it, myself included. the whole building was shaking, there was a bench across the road from the venue shaking.

i went mostly because Earth were playing with them, though i guess it's cool i got to experience that one time. i don't know how the band themselves endure it over and over again. also, a strange amount of pretty girls were there. it was funny to see all the creepy metal dudes trying to pick them up.

Tedeschi Trucks Band last week for 15 bucks. Great show and an awesome band that's hitting a peak and sounding great.

I've mentioned before that heavier rock n'roll was thought of as the devil's music when I was little and bands like KISS, Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper personified that. While I never really got into them I am going to see KISS for the first time tonight. I'm looking forward to the spectacle of it all, for better or worse.
