Having to buy a physical CD/record/thing is a hoop for me.

FLAC download or I'm torrenting it (which pretty much goes for any release these days.)

press....the whole buildup......all the stuff that doesn't really seem necessary anymore but a band like Pearl Jam might still be old fashioned enough to want to follow through with.

Just drop it out of nowhere and tour the thing.

I can't wait to go to a store the day it comes out and buy the CD. I have done it for every release since VS.

Your idea of a 'hoop' is dumbVERY DIFFERENT from what I consider a 'hoop'.

So my head is kind of exploding at that studio pic. The woman in between Ed and Einziger is Ann Marie Calhoun, a prominent studio session musician who's played with Ringo Starr, Steve Vai, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Jethro Tull, and a ton of other artists. We went to high school together.
I might be able to get to an E-bow.

Good to see some news from the studio, even if it is strings. That must means they are finishing off some songs which is a good thing.

The demo descriptions sound fake - why would the cold concession demo be changed to 3,2,1? There's no indication that the person was at all excited or disappointed by the songs. Surely anyone listening to new music would at least say something along the lines of: "pretty excited".

And Alford Pleas = "Instant Classic" - "lol".
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

There's been a few Belgian bands that have done this recently. dEUS probably the most well known. Just release an album without most people even knowing they were working on it. Was pretty nice.

I like the build up to an album. You get the gradual build up of anticipation. Songs leak, early reports build anticipation. They are like appetizers to the main course

just thinking so take it or leave it, but if Ms. Incubus there is the well-known "strings" contributor, what makes us think Mr. Incubus is recording anything?

the way the tweet is written, i read it that eddie & anne marie are the ones recording strings.

Eddie's done with the ukulele, it's all violin henceforth!

(I take it that the Incubus fellow composed string arrangements for the record. Does he do that? I guess he must.)

"Pearl Jam has recruited virtuoso violinist Ann Marie Calhoun, who happens to be the girlfriend of Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger, to lay down some tracks for the band's new album."

a quick wikipedia search informed me that Mike Einziger has provided strings for Incubus's last two albums (also assisting engineering on the most recent). their most recent album also lists the Anne Marie Orchestra. these aren't rumors, these are just facts.

Maybe we need a separate thread for facts.
