It sounds different, and is a totally different mix. That's really all. It was released on the vinyl version of the album in 1998. I haven't heard it, and I may as well wait until I get this box set.

Corgan posted this today:
Which maybe turns me to talk of the next, and last in the series from the Virgin years: MACHINA, with the deeper work beginning next week to cull together all the many parts. For that I’ve already tabbed Howard Willing to do the mixing, with me beside him, to try to bring out the dark, metallic, and muscular album #1 that lays buried beneath all the hazy insanity, and bring #2 into line. Expect a very, very different and illuminating work.

So it sounds like that's both Machina and Machine 2, right?

Yeah, it will be.

Oh, somebody has been leaking MCIS and Machina-era demos on a SP fansite. Among them is a demo of a song Billy wrote for Natalie Imbruglia, demos of "Home" and "Raindrops and Sunshowers" and a full version of "In the Arms of Sheep" with vocals. All of them are really, really awesome. The "Identify" demo instantly became one of my favorite SP songs, I can't fathom how "In the Arms of Sheep" was left off the MCIS reissue and the "Raindrops and Sunshowers" demo imagines Machina if it sounded like MCIS.

Maybe I'll post a link here if anybody cares. Or maybe not.

I have everything out there and yet it still somehow manages to not be that interesting. There's something about collecting Smashing Pumpkins bootlegs to make me realize that Soundgarden has the worst bootleg collection and community of any band I've ever seen. Very few demos, few soundboards, few FMs, and most of the audience tapes aren't very good.

The vinyl reissue of siamese dream looks cool..all neon and trippy...not sure it needed remastering, it sounds wonderful as it is.

The production is horrible, and it detracts from the enjoyment of the album. I love Machina but it's an acquired taste. My hope with the Machina reissue is that the two albums are combined into a coherent whole and remixed / remastered. Have you heard Machina II, VG? It's awesome.

Oh, and then there's this - which hopefully will get included in some form, even though it was released as a B-side in 2000:

Meh. This place kind of bores me. I pop around on occasion. I'm mostly busy doing this.

SP has a fantastic bootleg collection out there. Lots of amazing shows from 93-98 and I think their shows in 2006-7 were damn good too.
