picked up a slightly used copy of the best of r.e.m. in time: 1988 - 2003 for the pretty reasonable price of $65. also picked up a sealed copy of around the sun for about the same, but let's not talk about that album. only r.e.m. release i need now is reveal. still kicking myself for not picking it up for $10 when it was in the clearance bin for what seemed like an eternity about ten years ago.
ah, copperplate, a font for the truly modern man.

Re: The Vinyl Thread: Still Listen On Wax, Don't Use The CD
after giving up on my RCA console due to too much more being wrong with it to fuck with, I kinda went in the market for a new secondary turntable. Turns out a friend from work was willing to part with his because he rarely used it. Ended up being a Pioneer PL-518. This thing is way beyond the quality turntable I was expecting to find for a secondary turntable and might end up becoming my primary turntable.

Not sure I have anything in my collection I'd be willing to try this on. Anyone tried?

Oh, and what have you all been spinning lately? I'd proofreading a book this week, so I've been parked next to my stereo since Monday. Just a sampling:
The Decemberists - "Castaways & Cutouts"
Molina & Johnson - "Molina & Johnson"
Amalgamated Sons of Rest - "Amalgamated Sons of Rest"
Mountain Goats - "All Hail West Texas"
Bonnie Prince Billy - "Ease Down the Road"
Norfolk & Western - "A Gilded Age"
Pearl Jam - "Drop in the Park"
Alice In Chains - "Jar of Flies / Sap"
Sigur Ros - "( )"
Strand of Oaks - "Heal"
Bon Iver - "Bon Iver, Bon Iver"
I'm missing some.

You know what, I misread that as simply "the New Oldham." Good to see the other bros getting some releases!Simple Torture wrote:Hadn't seen that! People in the US: when you want a colored release from Music on Vinyl, where do you order them from? Soundstage Direct?

Yep, I don't care much for color though usually.Simple Torture wrote:People in the US: when you want a colored release from Music on Vinyl, where do you order them from? Soundstage Direct?
