i couldnt find pictures of them when i posted this a little was back

we each picked out 3 discs and we got a bag, now i just hope the weather forecast is wrong because its supposed to be in the 30s this weekend and that might suck to play in

hope we did ok with our choices
Chloe picked out all innova discs
champion side winder distance driver
skeeter midrange
avair putter

and i picked out all discraft discs
x cyclone extra long range
x buzzz mid range
x soft putter

i read a decent amount on the discraft discs to know how to decide on the stability, but wasnt as sure on the innova discs so im hoping i did ok helping Chloe pick out hers.

then i picked out an extra set of an innova boss disctance, shark midrange and a pole cat putter, though the boss is the one that ended up lost in the water already

Those are some decent choices to start out with. That buzzz should be your best friend on the course, it's a fantastic disc. The shark should be nice for you as well. Most important with a putter is that it feels good to you in the hand. Almost any putter will work for starters.

chloe's are nice for beginners as well. She'll probably get the best results with lighter discs as well.

Don't sweat losing the boss, it's way too much disc for learning. Stick to the narrower rimmed discs and resist the temptation to get more distance with the fancy new high speed drivers. You won't see any benefit from them until you can throw the buzzz over 330'.

good on ya. more people should be playing disc golf.
i am addicted right now, but only played for 3 weeks so far, should be able to get a few rounds in saturday though so should be good :D
i am addicted right now as well and it's an addiction that's going on 13 years now. I also have a bit of a plastic addiction to go along with it. At last count I have over 150 discs in my house. Two new 10th anniversary buzzz's just found their way into my life this week and I'm enamored with them.
Have you drawn the PJ Stickman on any of them? I bet chud has.
No PJ related ones, but I do have this one:

no such thing as too many.

what's in the current rotation?
First, my wife would disagree that there is no such thing as too many. Second, that disc in the pic above is AWESOME.

The past five or six times out I've been sticking with a Shark and a #1 Slice which I've had for at least 10 years, probably more. But they never let me down.
what are the benefits of all the extra discs when you have found the basic 3 you like to throw the most? mine are all fairly stable flying ( or at least supposed to be  ) since im just starting out, but do you usually carry somehting that will really curve around things easily and stuff like that? the different discs and what they should do for you is still pretty overwhelming, i read different non stop things for like 3 days before i decided to go up to the shop and pick some out
For me, I like having long and medium range discs. Also Some overstable and some understable of each. Plus a couple of specialty discs like a roller and a long putter. The Boss is kind of a specialty disc for me too since it is kind of like my "hook" disc.

What's the difference in a long putter and a regular putter ? Cuz i tend to throes my putter if im with in like 50 feet, should i look into a long putter for some of those throws

And if you lose one, so what? Are you planning on saving them and mounting them in a trophy case for display? It's a disc. Go throw them.
i bought an extra set of discs so i could try to get my buddy into playing, and on our 3rd round he threw one in the water and was freaking out because he lost it, thought i was going to be pissed, it wasnt special to me, i picked up some that i thought would be good for a beginner and the one he lost was 8 bucks, no biggy. BUT ive gotten pretty attached already to the ones im using, so i might be a little disappointed if i lose one of them, but if i can find the same one to replace it then ill be good
You will lose discs, it just happens. But it hurts, especially when it's a disc you've grown attached to. I'd be so upset if I lost my comet, it's one of my originals.
I'm pretty sure a comet was one of my recommendations to you when you were starting out. :heartbeat:

I don't currently carry comets, but they're a great disc.
It sure was. Took me a while to warm up to it but I love it now.

On long putts, my form is a little different so I like to use a disc that is less "abused" from chains and trees so that it'll fly straighter over the longer distance. Typically its the same type of disc, just in better shape. I putt with an Aurora which technically isn't a putter but it flies really really straight.

Any issues with a non putter not staying in the basket, or going through the chains? I assumed the thicker putter would be less likely to bounce off the chains, and mine feels less slick like it might grab a little when it hits chains.

Just buy discs for yourself and you'll have enough to supply a friend with whatever you're not using.

It's a pretty thick disc. It has a speed of 4 or 5.

Something slower and more understable. The Valkyrie is a great distance driver for beginners, or maybe an Avenger SS.

Check out this flight Guide here for an idea how discs are supposed to fly compared to ones you're already a bit familiar with.

This site here has much more detail as well if you really want to geek out on flight info.
