I believe that makes it my turn.Sgt. Crackpot wrote:I'm awol today too. If this thing hits me, just skip me and I'll catch up tonight.
Time to make what I believe Lament would call a "show me some personality" pick, so I'm going to side step a lot of the other bands that I equally love and pick a Dallas-area band that I've loved for 15 years now. They were on the edge of the "alt country" scene with their 1997 release Too Far To Care. Subsequent releases would lean more towards either straight up rock or even power pop, and lost just the hint of twang on most of the TFTC tracks. I dig all of their stuff, but TFTC is my favorite record from the 97's and for this list, I'm picking album opener (and traditional concert encore-ender) Time Bomb.

I like that this is becoming a "thing."dsb1218 wrote:Time to make what I believe Lament would call a "show me some personality" pick
I'd never heard that song before, but I'm digging it. I'll have to give it a few more listens. I didn't realize how happening Dallas was back in the day before this draft.
You've put together a nice string of picks, dsb. I especially dug the Janet Jackson one. You've got a cool set of songs brewing over there.

I usually worry each pick about whether it will hurt my cred with Lament.

I've been completely negligent with every pick. I don't pander to Lament's whimsy.

Numbers and Rangi, for what it's worth you both rank pretty darn highly with me. Your cred is pretty safe, no matter what you two pick.

I'd still love you, even if you picked a DMB song, Rangi.

If his love survived that fucking Sublime song, it'll survive anything.
