Sorry, I just now saw this post. If you start listening to them today you can probably have all twelve studio albums memorized by the time your next pick comes around.
I'm still screwed - if a band's been picked I'm trying to stay away, which really cuts me up some - no R.E.M., U2 or Manics
I don't really see the sense in that approach; even if you were the first to pick a Neil Young song, you can't control every other participant also picking a Neil Young song after you.
It seems like it both limits your options and doesn't provide any particular advantage to you.

And your favorite Neil Young song isn't necessarily mine. And I promise you it isn't Stip's.

Just trying to provide a broader spectrum to the songs in this thing. That's why I went with Tool as my first pick - I was sure they'd get picked by someone else - wanted to get in there before they were picked by someone else already
"I really enjoy sandwiches but the other guys are so good at making sandwiches that I don't make them. Now I make sandwiches."

I, for one, appreciate that approach. I love all the alt-nation classics as much as anyone, but it's nice when you discover a great song you haven't heard before or are reminded of one that you'd forgotten. Regardless, between the lot of us, I'd say we're covering the 90s quite well.

But that doesn't...
You know what, nevermind.

I'm out for the night, too. No chance I'm up anytime soon. If I am, tweet the Platypus. He doesn't have my pick, but tweet him anyway. And send him a PM to let him know you sent him a tweet.
I'm taking the fam to a Native American pow wow tomorrow (I kid you not!), so I may be gone for a while. DCT, Birds, Heathen, don't let me slow you down. Skip me and keep things rolling ... Rolling with the homies.
Here is the song that opened my 10 year old country bumpkin eyes to a new world. It's probably not his best song, but it's my first love and still my favorite to this day.
