I did that? Sorry, man!Lament wrote:Yeah, my feelings about Rangi are too strong to be changed by a bad pick. He's an awesome guy who has some pretty awesome tastes to go with it. Great pick. I didn't really get into them until my friend, Salim, started producing their music. My favorite albums are Blame It On Gravity and The Grand Theater. Not too big on their latest release, though.dsb1218 wrote:I believe that makes it my turn.Sgt. Crackpot wrote:I'm awol today too. If this thing hits me, just skip me and I'll catch up tonight.
Time to make what I believe Lament would call a "show me some personality" pick, so I'm going to side step a lot of the other bands that I equally love and pick a Dallas-area band that I've loved for 15 years now. They were on the edge of the "alt country" scene with their 1997 release Too Far To Care. Subsequent releases would lean more towards either straight up rock or even power pop, and lost just the hint of twang on most of the TFTC tracks. I dig all of their stuff, but TFTC is my favorite record from the 97's and for this list, I'm picking album opener (and traditional concert encore-ender) Time Bomb.
