No, for some reason after that and the rest of the collapse in the inning with the botched DP and leaving Prior in too long, it just didn't feel like they'd win - even though they came back and were winning in game 7.

Fair enough. I just ask cause a lot of the people I know would say they thought game seven was worse. They all seem to say that when Kerry Wood & Alou hit those home runs in game seven, they had no doubt the Cubs were winning it all.

Talk to any Sox fan who was around, they'll say the same thing about '86.Fuck You Jobu wrote:No, for some reason after that and the rest of the collapse in the inning with the botched DP and leaving Prior in too long, it just didn't feel like they'd win - even though they came back and were winning in game 7.

I was at both games. And I can say emphatically that nothing about or leading up to Game 7 even remotely approached the God-forsaken stomach-punch that was Game 6. Even though Wood was going the next night, you just knew the Cubs had no chance of winning.Lament wrote:Fair enough. Yeah watching game 6 you just felt, knew the Cubs were finally going to the WS. And after that inning, you just knew it was not going to happen the this day, this series, this year. So game 7 wasn't really a let down, but expected after that inning.Chris_H_2 wrote:I was at both games.
