Yeah, the CGI in the action sequences in that trailer look horrendous.

I've generally been a big fan of his effects and style, and it's been a while since I've watched LOTR, but it all felt of a piece to me. What are some of the things that people think look terrible?

The whole boat chase sequence in the last one...ten minutes long and so poorly rendered as to be baffling..

also the giant golden dwarf....wtf???

The statue looked fine to me. Then again, I kinda like the golden dwarf. Granted, there may have been better choices to have done, but I totally buy that the dwarven kingdom had turned its resources towards making an 80 foot tall golden statue of their kind, and I like the idea of being entranced by gold being the thing that (almost) kills Smaug.

I have some issues with the first two films (the first one especially) but I'm pretty in sync with what (I think) they're trying to do.

Much like those leaked Star Wars photos that everyone is saying as super spoilery... I have no idea what I'm looking at in that reflection. I don't get it. Doesn't look like there's anything to make much of.
