Maybe you guys are just going to the wrong clubs. The first time I'd heard a lot of amazing songs was at a club.

I'm pretty sure I went once in late 2011, but it might've been early 2012. I'll just say it was 2011 so I can have an RM coincidence.Lament wrote:When were you here though? Well then, sir, you have borne witness to my lack of anything approaching rhythm.
I may not have gotten to witness your moves.

Probably the only time I've been in the same place as another RMer outside of a Pearl Jam show.

My friend (girl) is the singer in a very good local rock band here. She gets a lot of shit. It's sickening.Lament wrote:I feel so bad for what females in music have to go through.ABNorman wrote:Ugh, I YouTubed that Chvrches song and made the mistake of scrolling down to the comments. I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

Lots of great discussion last several pages. Outside of the '00 tourney I'd love to see Lament's best singles of the last 15 years list.

My listening habits are still very much album oriented.Lament wrote:This is very true, and I will agree that it seems harder to find great albums today than it was 20 years ago. Scan through the albums and picks the one or two songs that hit you immediately and make a 10-12 song 'best of' playlist inside of 10 minutes. In the past if you spent $20 on a CD you damn well listened to it 100 times and fell in love. There's no time for love now Dr Jones.

Oh, and Lament, you better hope I'm not picking before you because The Mother We Share is definitely a first rounder for me.
