Chud's was the only mix that decided to just put on a bunch of songs people would probably like that flow pretty well together.

I put a lot of thought into how my mix flowed together.

I missed Stip's mix. But on paper I can certainly appreciated the thematic genius. I probably wouldn't have lasted to the Weird Al songs and therefore missed the kicker if I was listening to it though.

So did I, actually. And I had the problem of the songs needing to flow in reverse too. I spent a lot of time on that.

It would have been hard. I suffer through enough crap I don't like that I just assume everyone will do it.

I love that Varis' review was the first one and he did it as he went through the first listen. He perfectly captured that moment when it dawns on you that "Wait...this is just Weird Al the rest of the way, isn't it?"

i was completely unprepared for the possibility that someone might not like weird al.

Also, Lament had said in his pitch post that people could make mixes showcasing one artist, and no one had done that yet. And now we know why.

Yeah, people can pretty much do whatever they want. I thought there was a chance Chud's mix was gonna just be the first Mynabirds album.

I not only intend to review these mixes I plan to listen to them soon. Trust when I say I've been meaning to. I started what I thought was the first one, read that it was alt country and realised that I was listening to someone's Xmas mixtape. I seriously need more sleep.

I hate weird al. I mean, I see the appeal and he cracked me up when I was like twelve or so, but I'll be god damned if I spend more than two minutes listening.

Having said that really your mix can be whatever you want it to be. That's the beauty of a mixtape, isn't it?

And it's not that I don't like Weird Al stip, it's just that I wasn't interested in a full album side of him. But it doesn't matter - it's all about eliciting emotion in the listener, and you certainly did that. Nothing worse than a mix that you sit through and everything is just kinda "nice enough" and inoffensive.

I want to be stimulated and shocked. Tickle my fancy or disgust me, but just make me FEEL, OK??!
