Deadpool

Post by @SkitchP »

I have no idea if this is actually leading to a proper deadpool movie, but apparently Ryan Reynolds has been pushing for one and I have no idea what this actually is (test shots? proof of concept?, eventual trailer?) But its been taken down like 10 times. And looks pretty good

I understand it's test footage for Fox. I didn't think the writing was particularly great; those zany asides fell kinda flat. It's basically The Mask with killing.

it was ryan doing the voice and the body movements but deadpool was all cgi.

the writing will be much better when it gets green lit a go

if they can find the perfect balance with the character and what viewers are willing to accept then it will be great. but if they vary at all with him breaking the barrier and not always having absurd conversations with himself it will be panned by most fanboys

zany asides is what I remember Deadpool being all about. Fair warning: I havent read the comic since I was really young.

Don't care for Deadpool. The only time he's interesting are those few instances when he has a genuine emotional moment. I guess all the schtick makes those genuine moments that much more poignant cause they are so rare but it's too annoying to sit through all the bad comedy and 4th wall crap.

Ryan Reynolds playing a goofy superhero that's all CGI? What could go wrong?

Oh, right:

I'll reserve judgment until we get a trailer or two. But I like the talent behind it. And I like their passion for the character.

With the amount of fanboy pandering they're already doing, I wouldn't be surprised if this went the way of Scott Pilgrim or Snakes on a Plane and underperformed at the box office
