I'd make a snide remark, but you gave my team such a glowing review.
If anyone bypassed 'grunge' entirely I can see not having a PJ song for thematic or stylistic reasons. But otherwise everyone here, at some point, clearly thought pearl jam wrote some of the best music of the 90s. I don't understand not having a song on the team.

For me, it seemed more interesting to not have Pearl Jam in my team.

Yeah, I couldnt draft a team of 90s songs without having my Pearl Jam on it. That was never gonna happen.

Also, I Got Shit kinda of made up for how I had yet to take a Neil Young song in any of these things.

Let me ask you guys something, if I had taken "Who Will Save Your Soul" by Jewel, how would that have been received? I heard it today for the first time in years and I cant lie, I like that song.

I saw her in a small pub in Sydney when that album first came out. Just her and it was a really good show. I think I liked a few songs on that album for a week or so and then it just turned bad for me.

Worse I saw Steve Polz and he was a bitter prick about Jewel. Really sad show to see.

I based that choice entirely on this:

It's a pretty good song, but I liked it more back in the day. Even some great artists seem to be of their time, while others mange to supersede a particular era. That said, this is so unbelievably great:

That whole soundtrack should have been the s**t, but somehow most of it was underwhelming. That's the perfect word to describe "The Real Thing."

I loved Bush and hated Courtney Love, but I think you made the right choice.

Corduroy would have been the only one significant enough to me to take, and you made sure I didn't have to. I loved Pearl Jam in the 90s, but I also loved tons of other bands. I didn't take any U2 Oasis either, and I definitely loved U2 more than Pearl Jam. But making the best albums doesn't necessarily mean other people weren't writing better individual songs.

The bolded part is key. I didn't go with the stuff I liked back then but with the stuff from back then that I like now. Plus it's not like our lists HAD to be some sort of 'best of' to begin with.

I was strongly considering Even Flow. That would have been fun to include and would have got he votes flowing for sures!

I do love that little ditty.

Oh sure, and pearl jam is out of place on your list. It's not like it is full of early 90s alternative rock fellow travelers

I always had a huge crush on Jewel. Adorable and a decent songwriter as well. I kinda love Foolish Games I won't lie.

I can't stand Courtney Love. Only song I've ever liked was Doll Parts and I'm pretty confident someone who is no longer with us wrote that song/album.

I do enjoy Bush. Also liked Gavin's band. :P
