I've never liked Jeter. There, I said it. I know a lot of it is jealousy over watching him win and win and win while the Jays finished third in the East every year, but there's always been something about him that made me want to punch him in the face.

The DEA and DOJ people I spoke to said the names of other players should be revealed publicly during discovery. Could take weeks or months.

Doesn't sound like there are major names, but not borderline major leaguers, either. Fairly significant. Probably not more than a few.

What kills me about it is how guys like bagwell and piazza aren't getting close to enough votes, just because people assume.

But Bagwell didn't hit for power in the minors and Piazza had acne! Obviously they had to be on roids!

That's why I think a soft-tossing pitcher would be awesome. It would really mess with the narrative of all breakout power hitters being assumed to be guilty and everyone else assumed innocent.

Piazza will get in I think. He had what like 63% of the votes last year? I bet he gets in sometime in the next 5 years or so. Should already be in I think but I don't have a vote. BUT I SHOULD!

As for Bagwell I give him a pass on not having 500 which is the magic number for sluggers. He was having his best season ever during 94 (so add 20 homers there if not for the strike) and played the bulk (no pun intended) of his career in the Astrodome. What he has going for him is he was a good all around player and not just a slugger. He ran well (two 30-30 seasons), was a gold glove caliber first baseman and was right around .300 for his career. It's kind of alarming for his HoF case that his % of votes have gone down but I got to think he will get in down the road. He has a higher WAR all time than Joe DiMaggio, Robin Yount, Frank Thomas, Johnny Bench, Paul Molitor and Reggie Jackson. A higher OPS than Willie Mays and Hank Aaron. I find Bagwell to be incredibly underrated. Maybe he wasn't dominant (one MVP and two other top 5 MVP finishes) but a hall of famer I think.

He was very similar to Frank Thomas. I think Thomas was better but there are quite a few similarities there. Also, its creepy they have the same date of birth.
