I went into the show last night not having heard any Volcano Choir songs. And fuck, that show blew me away.

Its actually incredibly beautiful and amazing, but thanks for playing!
It's pretty damned good, for sure. But it pales in comparison to For Emma.
It's weird that it even carries the "Bon Iver" name, it sounds so different. But it's great. Some beautiful compositions. I still haven't heard Volcano Choir.

Had you seen Bon Iver at all?

Just hearing Vernons voice live is pretty incredible and the Volcano Choir songs are beautiful and huge...

Glad you enjoyed! Wish they were coming this way...

I think if you stripped all the instrumentation out of the second record, it would be very similar to For Emma....

Na, there's not as much beautiful melancholy in the chords.

I streamed the new album. It's very worth doing.

My initial impression of this artist based on my limited exposure was "Yeah, it's OK" but now that I'm listening to Bon Iver, Bon Iver I'm thinking "Holy fucking christ I should have been listening to this before now".

I Can't Make You Love Me / Nick Of Time just finished and it was a pretty sweet ride.

Both albums are sublime but that cover is something else.

I like For Emma more but ST is pretty great too.

The I Can't Make You Love Me cover is incredible.

I met Justin before I saw Bon Iver toward the end of their tour in 2011. Super down to earth and personable.

I really enjoyed The Shouting Matches.

I'd probably say For Emma is better, but Holocene is my favorite Bon Iver song and Beth/Rest is so strangely beautiful it still kinda weirds me out.

Beth/Rest sounds like something out of an 80's movie. I dig it too. Towers sounds like a Pretenders song.

Holocene is great. Perth blows me away. Justin called it a civil war era metal song in an interview. Totally agree. Just wonderful.

Blood Bank is my fav song from Bon Iver. Incredible.

Holocene is awesome and the video is like a home movie from my time in Iceland. So many beautiful spots and memories.

I fucking fucking fucking hate Beth/Rest. I hate Beth/Rest so much that I start getting anxious once Calgary begins, knowing how much it's going to suck in two tracks. What a horrible way to end an excellent album.
