yeah, Idler Wheel was better than I remembered. I'd still rank it third.

Re: Second albums that were better than the debut
Huge Counting Crows fan....
As much as I love August and Everything After I think Recovering the Satellites is a better album. In fact it's my favorite album. A few other Sophomore efforts I feel are better....
Siamese Dream
Strangers Almanac
The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
Ride the Lightning
Separation Sunday
Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers
The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle
Louder Than Love
A Carolina Jubilee
21
Paranoid
Crash
Elliott Smith (ST)
Aha Shake Heartbreak
II (Led Zeppelin)
Meat Is Murder
Grassroots
Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
The Downward Spiral (or Broken)
(What's the Story) Morning Glory?
Purple
Ænima

Re: Second albums that were better than the debut
Their debut is still very good. It has a lot of punky energy and madcap originality. But Toxicity is next level for me. I think there's a discipline and focus to it that makes it much more resonant than the debut. The power, atmosphere, and sonic size of songs like "Toxicity" and "Chop Suey!" and "Needles" and "Aerials" well outdoes any song on the debut, in my opinion.cutuphalfdead wrote:Not sure about that.LoathedVermin72 wrote:-System of a Down - Toxicity
