The crazy thing is that Chicago is currently more than $2 million over the cap, and the extensions don't kick in until next year. Tack on a combined $8.4 million in raises for those two and things look a little rough. With three defensemen and ten forwards under contract for 2015-16, they have $3.2 million in cap space.warehouse wrote:both got $10M+ a year right? its gonna be tough in the future when you have that much invested in 2 players.
Sharp kind of has to be on the way out, doesn't he?

john stevens, assistant coach w/ the kings, is bringing the stanley cup to sea isle city, nj tomorrow, 2 blocks from my shore house. should i go? i always thought it would be carter bringing the cup to sic, in which case i would probably try to drink out of it at the bar. stevens is letting people take pictures with it on the beach. sounds pretty cool, and as a flyers fan this might be as close as i can get to seeing the stanley cup (fuck you peeps, i beat you to it).

I just saw Guy Boucher eating lunch with his family at the food court at the mall.
One of my coworkers spotted him first but we weren't sure so we waited for him turn around and then...

While a lot of people complained about the Leafs' lack of major moves this offseason, the Leafs have absolutely loaded up on advanced stats guys. This is awesome and it's a complete about-face for the organization. I love the direction they've taken since bringing Shanahan on board.

The middle of August is the worst. I miss hockey.
I take a day off to go to Avs training camp every year. Less than a month away now.

Yeah, I like it because of the impact it can have on the Leafs future... the Simmons part is just an unexpected bonus.Mecca wrote:anything that pisses off Steve Simmons is great in my bookphilpritchard wrote:While a lot of people complained about the Leafs' lack of major moves this offseason, the Leafs have absolutely loaded up on advanced stats guys. What are you talking about? Dallas is definitely making the playoffs this year. Once you're in, anything can happen.BigRedLedbetter wrote:Excited for hockey season! Even if my Stars won't be in the mix for the cup....again.

They made the playoffs as a young team on the rise and then added Jason Spezza as a second line centre. They're moving in the right direction and there's a lot to be excited about.BigRedLedbetter wrote:Excited for hockey season! Even if my Stars won't be in the mix for the cup....again.

I'd like to point out a stars fan not understanding hockey, but I won't.

Oh excited yes. Playoffs? Probably? They are not close to contending though. I do like their young nucleus though. Probably a 6-7 seed this year.philpritchard wrote:They made the playoffs as a young team on the rise and then added Jason Spezza as a second line centre.
