oh my god, stop makingthings complicated. he is stuck with ripken, preferably forever. it's not a terrible pick. '96 was pretty good, no? i don't have the stats in front of me.

So when assigning our guys to a position, to we have to use the year that we've selected, or can we use any position they've played extensively throughout their career?
Like if I pick Miggy 2012, do I have to use him as a third basemen (as thats what he played that year) or can I use him as the 1B on my roster?

I was really hoping to draft a team with Barry Bonds and Albert Belle has my corner outfielders.numbers wrote:I take Albert Belle.

Well... he's the closest, but I still don't think he's on Piazza's level.BigRedLedbetter wrote:philpritchard wrote:Mike Piazza.
I don't think anyone else can compete for best catcher of the era.

Offensively clearly not. That defense might close that gap though.

I say they have to be at the position they played in the year you are assigning them.@SkitchP wrote:So when assigning our guys to a position, to we have to use the year that we've selected, or can we use any position they've played extensively throughout their career?

I feel like we rushed into this draft.

You will if you draft Miggy, Braun, Zimmerman, Vmart, Arod, etc.

The site designates positions for each players. Miguel Cabrera is a 3B for 2006, 2007, 2012, 2013 for example. So you'd have to use 2012 Miggy as a 3B.@SkitchP wrote:So when assigning our guys to a position, to we have to use the year that we've selected, or can we use any position they've played extensively throughout their career?

Hey, this is my dream team, shouldn't I be allowed to tell a guy who normally plays 3b to get the fuck over to first?

There are no DH's. Our pitchers are hitting. Hence all the Dontrelle Willis talk
