In a way, they needed Gomes more than they needed Lester in that trade.

Russell should be ready next year one would think. My buddy who lives in TN saw him play this summer and had glowing reviews.

Your (Red Sox) gain I guess with YC.

I can just see them being desperate enough to not get bounced in the first round that trading Russell might make sense. Billy Bean needs a WS ring more than anyone else in baseball.

That I agree with.

I expect the A's to take a pretty big step back next year.

Yeah, 1989. But that's not what I meant.

Beane also was a Twin in 1987 but it was briefly. Like a few weeks.

Peavy looking pretty pretty pretty (Larry David voice) good as of late.

Ok boys question for the day. It's easy....like some girls I have dated.

At 1976 games this player has the most games played of anyone active to never play in the postseason. Who is he?

I watched from the 5th inning on last night and I didn't think Peavy looked as good as his line suggested. He was falling behind in a lot of counts and his defense was bailing him out a lot.

Peavy is back home in the NL.

Any guesses at the trivia question?
