One and two are not only (I think) great songs, but these are both songs that restored my love and faith in my two favorite bands at moments when I was starting to wonder if they could still make music I loved.

The Dresden Dolls were my favorite discovery of the decade. I don't know if this is still my favorite song of Amanda Palmer's, but it was the one who made me a fan

I am not a huge Arcade Fire fan, but this is a tremendous song. Bonus points for only being tangentially about how awful it is to grow up in the suburbs.

I heard this song on NPR and was blown away. I got the album which was okay, and have never really thought about the band again. But this song really struck a huge chord with me. I heard it right before my daughter was born, which no doubt has a shit ton to do with how I feel about the song.

I feel that way about The Meaning of 8, a lot of those songs are also written for Kaidin. Craig is a pretty amazing dude even outside of his music.
