The opening and closing scenes of this episode were maybe my favorite things on the show so far. And that concentration camp flashback was really good too.

The flashback stories in the books were really well written and they have come across well in the show. I hope they continue with them because there are more. Especially a pretty brutal one

Saw episode one last night. I'll hang on for a while i guess..

The last episode was kinda both the best and worst episode so far. The best because I love that they took the time to devote a whole episode to a stand in a convenience store, and I love the plague is finally getting "big" enough for that to happen. And I'm also glad the rat guy finally joined the primary group. And the visuals were nice; lots of cool color contrasting.

However, it's held back by how stupid and annoying a lot of the behavior of the characters was.

agree about the behavior. i can often overlook the stupid behavior in a 2 hour movie, but over the course of 8 episodes it's just ridiculous.

Weak dialogue is what holds this back. I don't have an issue with character decisions in the sense that there is no expected way to behave when surround by virus-vampires in a Brooklyn quickie-mart. Except for maybe handing out flyers for your friend's vegan BBQ truck.

Also, they tell us down to the damn address where they are in New York for no apparent reason, but some "work camp" or some nonsense in the WWII flashbacks.
