This show would be a lot better if it was set in the WWII storyline.

The opening and closing scenes of this episode were maybe my favorite things on the show so far. And that concentration camp flashback was really good too.

The flashback stories in the books were really well written and they have come across well in the show. I hope they continue with them because there are more. Especially a pretty brutal one

The last episode was kinda both the best and worst episode so far. The best because I love that they took the time to devote a whole episode to a stand in a convenience store, and I love the plague is finally getting "big" enough for that to happen. And I'm also glad the rat guy finally joined the primary group. And the visuals were nice; lots of cool color contrasting.

However, it's held back by how stupid and annoying a lot of the behavior of the characters was.

Yeah last night was awesome in a lot of ways, but some characters need work. Vasily is the best

agree about the behavior. i can often overlook the stupid behavior in a 2 hour movie, but over the course of 8 episodes it's just ridiculous.

I really enjoyed that last episode (stupid character decisions aside)
Spoiler: show
Although I would have expected more vampires to decend on the petrol station if the master was trying to send a clear message

Didn't see them killing off one of the major characters

Weak dialogue is what holds this back. I don't have an issue with character decisions in the sense that there is no expected way to behave when surround by virus-vampires in a Brooklyn quickie-mart. Except for maybe handing out flyers for your friend's vegan BBQ truck.

I refuse to believe you guys think this show is actually good. I watch it, but have no delusions that it is anything beyond mindless.

Before getting caught up in watching this - I tried The Leftovers - this is pure gold compared to that

It's mid tier. Not outright shit like Under the Dome, not brilliant like Hannibal - it's probably on about the same level as TWD.

If the dialogue didn't sound like something that google translate spat out, it would be pretty cool.

Yes. Because the dialogue is why they let the hackers friend get away but immediately attack the bread driver.

They strain-splained that; the baby-vamps were acting under daddy's orders not to let the main characters get out.

Yes. And that bread driver was clearly the key to the entire thing.

Also, they tell us down to the damn address where they are in New York for no apparent reason, but some "work camp" or some nonsense in the WWII flashbacks.
