The last episode ("The Immortals") was awesome. I love the sense of wonder and hope that Tyson is able to project. It is very Saganesque.

Yeah, that's the way science works. Your discoveries/findings have to withstand scrutiny from the scientific community. What's your point?CopperTom wrote:http://time.com/118525/doubts-over-big-bang-discovery/

Isn't it a bummer anytime there is a show on Venus? How cool would it have been if things didn't go wrong there and we had a sister planet we could go to and live on?

Yes it wasABNorman wrote:That whole Voyager/Pale Blue Dot segment was brilliant.
Here is the full Carl Saga pale blue dot narrative with someone else's imagery. It's worth the ten minutes.

Why does he keep saying that Neptune is the outermost planet. WTF happened to Pluto and how come I never heard about it?

Pluto was voted out of the universe on the popular reality show "Who Wants to Be a Planet?" In 2005.

If you're a fan of the dwarf planet Pluto, get excited for New Horizons, which will be there in less than a year: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Horizons

Re: Cosmos (Neil deGrasse Tyson)
SRSLY guys. I never heard the news that Pluto no longer counts as one of the nine planets.
This throws off the whole My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nine Pickles thingy, aaannnnndddd it ruins a perfectly good joke from the movie Spaceballs.
I'm pissed.

Between this and nobody explaining the Hunter Pence sign thing to me I'm about to start going somewhere other than RM for my news.

Re: Cosmos (Neil deGrasse Tyson)
Watched all of this again recently. I'll stand by my assessment that it was as good as the original "Cosmos."
