I don't think I've ever seen a band become so lost.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Who the fuck is Mononash, and how did he randomly decide to browse this thread on p. 31?

ZZ Top... the early stuff.

Well, it was like 10 years ago. Nowadays I don't really care what others think about the music I listen. Anyways, for some reason this album came to my mind recently, and I had to listen to it again. I still don't hate it. At least it's no worse than Bon Iver.

I've been revisiting a lot of junk music from my teen years...and I kinda still like some of it.

I did something similar not so long ago. It was more about revisiting some of the music I listened in my early twenties though. Bands like:

Early Day Minors
The Mutton Birds
The Velvet Teen
Xploding Plastix
Mi Doi Todd
Kreg Viesselman
Euphone
Damien Jurado
Dismemberment Plan
Logh

It was all about discovering new bands back then. Now I couldn't care less. I mean I still check out new music every now and then, but nowadays it's more about discovering old music, e.g. great jazz recorded in the 50's and 60's that I have not yet heard.

I completely forgot about The Velvet Teen. I think they were from CA but had some sort of connection in OR, or maybe just liked playing in Portland a lot? I saw them a couple times in the early aughts, but can't remember much more than that. I feel like maybe they opened for Cursive or something.
I think I discovered them through Pandora. Elysium is probably the only album of theirs I listened. This was one of my favorites as I recall:

The Dismemberment Plan were great -- "Emergency and I" and "Change" are some of my favorite turn-of-century indie records, many of which haven't held up for me very well (looking at you, Modest Mouse).

I think The Dismemberment Plan and Modest Mouse are both great, but I love a lot of late 90's/early 00's indie rock.

I have so many musical guilty pleasures. It's mostly what I listen to these days. I'm old. Fuck it. These are some recent ones.
