Taking lament's game plan a little and stocking up on relievers. I don't think I will carry 9 but probably 7-8.

There is another starting pitcher I'm thinking about taking and sticking in my pen. I have seen two different answers if this will work or not. Lament.....is this possible?

You can't actually designate a starter as a reliever, but the simulator will use a starter in a reliever's role if you have enough of them. If you've only got four or five they won't come out of the pen, but if you have six or more they will*. I've seen sixth starters get used when the starter gets shelled early or a game goes 12-13 innings. If you have actual relievers on your roster though, the simulator will default towards using them unless it's mop-up duty.

*This isn't something it actually says anywhere, just what I've seen through my experiences. Honestly the best way to get a feel for how the simulator runs is to visit the site and run some simulations. You can even see how it treats dream team simulations, either by going to the "Search" tab and selecting "Dream Team" as the type of team you're searching for, or by signing up for a free account and putting together your own. I set up a team with all starters and a team with only one starters to see how the simulator used relief pitchers in extreme situations like that.
