There was a moment toward the end where I got the feeling that Linklater didn't know how to end it. But he pulled it off. Very rewarding film.
It's a great movie. Probably the best I've seen in years.

Just the timescale and commitment involved, it moved at the right pace, the acting was top notch across the board, never felt forced or twee, and it could have had fallen into that very easily.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I will be very impressed if anyone ever gives me a compelling argument for why Boyhood is a good movie.dimejinky99 wrote:malice wrote:have you met spenno, yet?LoathedVermin72 wrote:I really don't understand what people are finding rewarding about it.Dscans wrote:I give it five thumbs up.durdencommatyler wrote:Dscans wrote:I'm going tonight. I'll watch it again, that's usually a big push for a film being great for me.

There is no need for a "compelling argument" for liking something.

How'd I get dragged into the quote pyramid above?
The wife and I have been talking about seeing Boyhood; seeing as the trailer made us both embarrassingly choked up, that probably gives a reasonable indication of how we'll likely feel about it.
You never know, though, maybe I'll hate it. Probably not though, I've always enjoyed Linklater's films.

2. Pacing was okay.
3. Totally disagree on the acting. I think Hawke gave the only good performance in the movie.
Most of my problems are on a subtextual level, though.
