Re: Post-Strike Baseball Tournament: Finalize/Submit Rosters
So I went through and simulated a few games against the 1927 Yankees to try it out (beat them in 6, so that's a start) and some of my pitchers were throwing 160+ pitches, even when they were pitching poorly. I don't think I ever got more than two innings out of my bullpen in a single game even though Randy Johnson allowed 10 hits and walked 7 in one game. Is it possible to manage something like that, or does that kind of detail only come with a paid subscription?

I had Troy Percivil pitched 2 1/3 innings and have an AB one time. Kind of weird. For the most part this is boss though.

Thats basically what screwed me in this in my simulations. I aimed for a very strong bullpen, only to see the sim let my starter go six even though he had given up 12 runs.

Re: Post-Strike Baseball Tournament: Finalize/Submit Rosters
I looked into it quickly and it looks like you can manage bullpen roles and pitch counts and stuff like that in other game modes, but I don't think you can if you're just simulating individual games. This is my first time using it, though, so I may be missing something.@SkitchP wrote:philpritchard wrote:So I went through and simulated a few games against the 1927 Yankees to try it out (beat them in 6, so that's a start) and some of my pitchers were throwing 160+ pitches, even when they were pitching poorly. I met Nomar at the CWS in Omaha a few years ago. He was very nice.

I don't see anywhere to set a rotation.

I think you just select your starter before each game.4/5 wrote:I don't see anywhere to set a rotation.

Btw, do we have to have a 4 man rotation?

Pretty sure you can use as many as you'd need (like 7) but it's like a real playoff series so you'd only need 4. I thought about using 5. I went with the strategy of no top starting pitchers but went with depth and 3-4 really really good ones. I think you and I have a pretty good matchup though. Maddux 95 (I assume) vs Greinke 2009 game 1 should be fun.

So it looks like a Roger Clemens-Randy Johnson matchup in Game 1. It doesn't get much better than that.
I fully expect that to turn into a 10-9 slugfest.

Going left game 1?
Then I'll go with my lineup
1 Jacoby Ellsbury CF
2 Andrew McCutchen LF
3 Luis Gonzalez RF
4 Alex Rodriguez SS
5 Miguel Cabrera 1B
6 Chase Utley 2B
7 Jorge Posada C
8 Ben Zobrist 3B
Against RHP I can put Miggy at 3rd and put Delgado in the lineup, or leave Miggy at 1b and put Alex Gordon at 3B and JD Drew in the OF.

Re: Post-Strike Baseball Tournament: Finalize/Submit Rosters
Gordon was a sensational 3rd baseman in HS and college. Like started and hit leadoff and played 3rd for our HS team as a fucking 14 year old Freshman. I'm pretty surprised how good he has become in the OF.

Yes sir. It's a big part of the reason I tried to draft guys that can play multiple positions (miggy, zobrist, gordon, arod, etc). It doesn't seem like its going to work, but it sure was fun!

Oh totally. I had my eyes on Zobrist no doubt. One of my favorite guys in the league.@SkitchP wrote:BigRedLedbetter wrote:Gordon was a sensational 3rd baseman in HS and college.
