If you had watched a certain movie by now I wouldn't have to be talking about a dead has been comedian. That Transformers thread would be 200 pages by now.
Is it at the Redbox yet?

I bought two notebooks just for jotting down thoughts while I watch. And also more than 3 liters of Laphroaig.

I admit to having lost track of her career somewhere in the mid-90s. She made some choices that were not indicative of her talent. But mean, hateful and vindictive? Where does that come from? I'm not saying it's inaccurate, I'm just curious. Like I said, I really haven't paid attention since she started looking like a oversized toy version of that robot she played in SpaceBalls.

Her episode of Louie was pretty fantastic, though.

I think this is part of it:

Ah.

Well, yeah. That's extreme. For a different thread perhaps, but there's so much hate and so much ingrained hate on both sides of that fence. Not that it excuses that sort of sentiment.

Once you get into your 80s I don't think you should be held accountable for your idiotic views anymore.

The talk of relevance is irrelevant. The reaction to the death is about the totality of the life. If no one had seen or heard from her in 20 years this would still be a big deal

Because she was an immensely consequential entertainer.

And because we remember people for what they did as well as what they are do

"My kids are the problem" is parent slang for "I don't want to tell you the reason. It's embarassing."
