That's right. I'm throwing this shit back in time. I might be alone, but these guys are great. It's just great pop rock. Deluxe and Friction, Baby are classics. How Does Your Garden Grow? is, without question, one of the most underrated albums of the 90's. Closer is a wonderful road trip album. Before the Robots and Paper Empire are just them doing what they do best- catchy songs that can pull at the heart strings.
Kevin Griffin has penned some huge songs in the last couple of years for some of the biggest names in music.
They've got a new album coming out next week and it's streaming on Billboard. It's a pretty uptempo album compared to the last few. They aren't reinventing the wheel, but they're showing they still got the chops after almost 30 years together.

They are such a fun live band. I went to college in New Orleans in late 90's so I have a special place in my heart for them.

Had one of their albums in the 90s. Might have to dig it out.

I listened to the 5.1 mix of How Does Your Garden Grow? last night and, holy shit, it sounds amazing. That album is just amazing from beginning to end. It's a shame they didn't get any promotional backing for it. I can think of 4 songs that could have been hits.
Does anyone know a good program to rip the audio of the new album or would be willing to do so? I'm going to be traveling for work when the vinyl and download code come in.

I adore this band. Paper Empire was a let down but what I have heard of the new one sounds more promising.

Agreed. Paper Empire is basically a Kevin solo album. In fact, many of the tracks were recorded for a solo album that he scratched. There were like three different drummers, some co-writing credits, Tom didn't play bass on all the tracks. It was just kind of a jumbled mess. Absolutely Still, Just One Day, Fit, Hey Love and I Just Knew are all top notch though.mray10 wrote:I adore this band.
