Wow. Good find.

I feel like a douche for posting in this thread for selling my vinyl collection a few years ago (divorce is expensive) but I'm going to start rebuilding my vinyl collection soon.

It's annoying because after 5-6 sings you have to walk over and flip or exchange the record.

That said my dad has a legit jukebox from many decades ago - that is where I keep my PJ holiday singles and it is pretty fun to listen on vinyl.

I like it that you have to flip the record. It prevents you from listening passively.

I was super excited about the used section yesterday. Got a slightly used copy of The Antlers' new record and a copy of DCFC's "Plans," each for $15. My fiancee was waiting in the car, so I had to stop at "N."

If you ever get a Barnes and Noble giftcard from a well-meaning aunt or a clueless boss, don't sleep on it! I was able to get 6 LPs on barnesandnoble.com for $15 each:

Damien Jurado - St. Bartlett
Damien Jurado - Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Sun
Damien Jurado - Maraqopa
Damien Jurado - Caught in the Trees
My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges
Norfolk & Western - Unsung Colony

They're going to take 2 weeks to process and ship, but it'll be worth it.

Ever find one of your all-time favorite albums for really cheap? Like, $15 cheaper than you've ever seen it? And then you put it on the platter and you're all like ahhhhhhh (that's the noise of satisfaction):

I was just at Newbury Comics yesterday. Someday, the entire store will just be Newbury Comics limited-edition colored records and nothing else.

I'm in the market for some new headphones specifically for listening to vinyl. Can anyone recommend some good cans around the $100-$150 mark?

Caved and ordered the clear Benji

And theres no real headphones specially for vinyl, although I'm surprised some snake-oil salesmen hasn't come up with that though. Just look a nice headphones that fit your listening needs, so I take it they will be used more at home, so maybe look at Grados? I'm sure Chud or someone could point you in the right direction.

Cheers for the reply

I realise there's no 'made for vinyl' headphones, but as you say, would not be surprised if a pair is marketed as such someday. I just thought I'd scope out the preferences of some fellow black-circle spinners. Will look into Grados, was also going to check out some Audio Technica ATH-M40/50s.

Another question for those in the know - how important is the quality of an amp if a turntable already has a built-in pre-amp? I have an Audio Technica LP120-USB that I'm moving to a hifi-less bedroom (away from inquisitive little hands :))

A little more in price than what you're aiming for but these are fucking great, and cheaper than when I got mine.
