Songs I don't like get -1, tolerable songs get 0, songs I like get 1, songs I really like get 2. Even my own team would probably only get around 15.

Stip - 8
Bada - 5 (upgraded since first round)
Brett - 0
Heathen - 1 (these may seem harsh, but Brett & Heathen only had 2 songs each that got -1. There just weren't as many that I liked outright.)
#BRL - 8
Rangi - 6
Okay, I'll bite. What were my -1 songs? I'm thinking perhaps Colin Stetson and Esmerine?

According to my notes, they were track 4 and 10, so that's Carla Bozulich and Thee Silver Mt. Zion. To be fair, track 4 was probably affected by the shitty YouTube video and her live affectations, and track 10 was probably more of a "14 more minutes to get through? Sheesh." reaction after quite a dense playlist. Otherwise I found everything else either fine, or enjoyable but too long (or Sufjan). I might've liked both your and Heathen's teams a bit more if I'd listened to other teams in between, or listened to them more than once - this isn't music that necessarily hits you on the first try.

Just listened to the Soundcloud of Lazy Crossbones, and it's definitely much better, but I still don't like her vocals/lyrics. I've swapped out the track on your playlist - I linked to the SoundCloud version in the description before, but didn't even notice it when I listened through. Hope it hasn't cost you any votes.

Ah, I see. I went with the Soundcloud link precisely because I felt that live video didn't do the song proper justice. I tried to steer away from longer songs on this one a bit, because I can understand that for some people it's a chore. I figured the Sufjan track would be a make or break type song for this, but it was too good to leave off. I can also understand that some people don't "get" Silver Mt. Zion. "Acquired taste" is putting it mildly, and even I had some adjustments to go through in terms of Efrim's vocal qualities when I first started listening to the band.

Yeah, I think if I wasn't already a fan of Sufjan, and hadn't listened to Age of Adz, I would've taken one look at a 25 minute song and thought "sod this". Which is why I say I'd probably come around on a few of these tracks with a bit more effort.

I got about 15 views on the Nude Girls song I uploaded for the 90's tournament, there were 24 people in the tournament, and about 5 of those views were me checking it had worked/getting nostalgic. But it's nice to know that there are some people who are listening through the lists. Not everybody's got the time.

Absolutely. Time is scarce for everyone. But if you can spare a few minutes all the better.

I'm fortunate, I'm the boss and my minions have to damn well listen to whatever the hell I'm listening to. Bwahaha. :|

Stip - Bada
Bada - this was a lot closer than I thought. Tried ranking the songs and it came out at a tie. Bada takes it for Broken Bells and Mastodon.
Brett - Heathen
Heathen - another realy close one. Overall Heathen had more songs I dug, along with a couple that made me just think 'What the fuck was that!'
Rangi - BigRedledbetter
Rangi - although BigRedledbetter has a stellar team

Colin Stetson performs "Fear of the Unknown and the Blazing Sun" in Studio Q <- is that supposed to be the first song in brett's playlist?

nevermind, found this comment:

This is actually named "Part of me apart from you" and can be found in Colin's "New history of Warfare vol. 3: to see more light". He is a true saxophone master.

Bigredledbetter

Chvrches—this is one of their better songs. I haven’t heard this album in a while. This was better than I remembered

Arcade Fire—this is the kinda boring side of arcade fire (which admittedly, is most of their stuff. But occasionally they pop out something really cool).

Bon Iver – this was pretty good, but I can’t help but feel that one song is exactly the right amount of Bon iver to listen to at a time

The National- As I’ve said elsewhere, The National continues to vaguely bore me despite the fact that if you described them to me on paper I’d expect to love them. Having said that, this was decent and built nicely

The Hold Steady-they’re pretty good at doing something I don’t care much about. And that’s what this was.

Avett Brothers-I liked this. I can’t imagine seeking this song out, but I’d enjoy it if I heard it again

Adele – hey, she’s a pretty good singer. I hope she makes it.

Sawmill Joe- this was a weird video, since I expected this guy to be older, and possibly black. Similar reaction to the Avett Brothers

Field Report – there’s definitely a southern feel to the back half of this mix. A cool combination of atmosphere and immediacy in this one.

Wilco – I was all prepared to say not nice things about Wilco, but this was good. Nice opening build and this song had a lot more personality than the previous wilco songs peolle have drafted. Solo at the end was the icing on the cake

This was a very strong mix from top to bottom. I think the only weak spot for me was the arcade fire song, and It wasn’t like it was bad. I think I’d vote for this team over anything else I’ve heard so far (bracketing mine, obviously)

Rangi Guy

REM—you asshole. This song is soooo good and I really wanted it. Best first round pick, including my own. I do think the six minute version of this song they extended for this video is unnecessary.

ABnorman—I’d use this video which is the 4 minute studio version of the song

Phosophersecent—Nice song. It had all the lushness of the kind of guitar that normally uses a slide guitar, without the excess

Birds of Tokyo – Another pretty good song, though it lost me a little bit when it went into anthem 101 on the chorus. Pretty strong flow on this mix so far. Though looking ahead, the flow seems likely to derail a bit.

Ben Harper – I’ve never really liked Ben Harper. This remains the case

Opeth – This was decent

QOTSA- Ehhhh

Black Keys – this was alright. Some stuff I really dug, but couldn’t quite commit to the whole song

Soundgarden—this was ok, though I like the other soundgarden songs drafted

Getaway – It’s entirely possible this is the song I like the least on lightning bolt, or pretty close to it. Still a solid song, though.

Shihad – I liked the music, not the singer

Rangi had some pretty strong stuff on his team, and no disasters. I think this could have beaten some lesser teams, but BRL assembled one of the very best teams in this thing.
