Ed channels his latest rage into an epic three months of writing, laying the groundwork for 20+ really good songs.

Brendan O'Brien senses greatness in the air, though he doesn't know why or where this feeling is coming from. So, in reaction, he places lasers all over his house and paints every wall with a high gloss paint. His wife doesn't know him anymore, leaves him, and he falls into a deep, dark depression. By the time the next PJ album comes around, he does his best, dirtiest work since Vitalogy.

Next album made available in $40 deluxe version promising exclusive digital content.

Digital content turns out to be the new U2 album.

I tried listening to that album. Shutdown and deleted itunes after 3 tracks. I'm glad it was free.

When I said "next album" I didn't mean Lightning Bolt, Sarge.

the second half of that album is significantly more interesting than the first, for what it's worth sarge. 6 songs in and i was wondering how I was going to make it to the end.

Yeah, after I had a read of the reviews you guys put in the album thread I gave it another go. There are a couple of half decent songs in the 2nd half, so I'll give it a few more spins.

I intially didn't like it because the first couple of tracks were too much like No Line on the Horizon, which is probably their worst album.

I started giving it a second spin yesterday and on the second listen alone the first two songs were greatly improved. But I stopped after song 2 and songs 3-6 was really the low point of the record.

Nothing grabbed me as amazing or instantly compelling, but some stuff definitely has potential and U2 is certainly capable of writing a song with hidden depths, so we'll see.

Did anybody predict new socks? Probably not.
We love these comfy, durable socks and they're even cooler with these new Lightning Bolt designs. Now available in the shop!

Did anyone predict wristbands that read "GA PIT: FOR THE FAITHFULL!" with the Ten Club logo in place of the letter "o" for 2014?

I support that. Last year, I got a recycled one from a previous tour.

No band puts as much into the design of their GA wristbands or the packaging they use when they mail their fan club single/membership gifts as Pearl Jam does. We don't give them enough credit for this.

"The Faithfull" ranks up there with "Beiberites", or whatever they call themselves
