As a Cardinals fan, Game 6 is for me the greatest moment in the entire history of my baseball and sports fandom. I'm sorry it had to be you guys. You were a great team, with good fans and a group of players that should have won a title. Too bad it wasn't against the Yankees or the Red Sox - that is the only thing that would have made that title sweeter for me.

The thing you have to remember about the 2011 Cardinals - that team was a team of destiny if there ever was one. They just were not going to lose once they made the playoffs.

I saw the other day that the Angels are 8 games up now. Wasn't it like two weeks ago that they were tied heading into a weekend series against each other?

So this pitcher from the brewers named Fiers just broke Giancarlo Stanton's face then hit the next batter in the hand also next to his face.

Then the umpires called the guy out on strikes.

This should be an interesting aftermath.

Probably the best hitter at least in the NL out and a long rehab ahead him. That sucks.

I have tickets to see the Sox next Friday against Tampa. I was really hoping to see him play one last time, though his hand injury is making that look really unlikely. It's gonna be weird next season without him around.

As much as Chris Davis has been pretty awful this year, losing him has to hurt for the Orioles.

To make matters worse, he has applied for (and received) and exemption to use it in past seasons. He just didn't bother to get approval this year.

These kinds of things always seem sketchy to me. It seems like every time someone's caught for using amphetamines they've said "I had an exemption in the past and forgot to get it renewed this year." I'm usually all for benefit of the doubt when it comes to steroids, but it's hard not to view that as bullshit. It just seems like such a convenient way for the player to come off as remorseful and accepting of the punishment while at the same time claiming it was just an honest mistake.
