Re: 2014 NFL Season
On the fence about tonight's game. Do the Ravens rally around each other and say, "Hey, guys, our job is to play ball--let's go out there and show them that this whole shit storm has nothing to do with us." Or are they even good enough to do that? I think I'd take the Steelers +1

I rememeber, I was at that game. My seats were in the opposite endzone, I had no clue there was a controversy until I got home.Bammer wrote:Remember that TD that Vinny Testaverde scored with his helmet?
That was probably the best year to be a Jets fan in my lifetime. Of course like always they broke my heart in the end.

Aaron Hernandez and OJ Simpson are the two others that came to my mind. Phillips is probably the worst that wasn't accused of murder.Electromatic wrote:*Ray Carruth is the only one I can think ofGreen Habit wrote:I'll never forget during coverage of some draft in the mid 00s when the cameras found a guy wearing a Lawrence Phillips jersey. I dunno if Goodell is in really, really hot water yet, but it appears the gas has been turned on: http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/ ... d-hit-wife

Remember when Suggs poured bleach on a woman and her son, and then they won the Superbowl?
How about the time he dragged a woman he pushed out of a car?

Terrell Suggs is a piece of garbage. Given the choice between him and Rice I'm rolling with Sugar Ray...

Steve Smith just sealed his induction in the Douchebag Hall of Fame by calling himself "Smith Sr." on his jersey. The pioneer in that regard was Titus Young...enough said.

Yep...Donte Stallworth, as well. Before we get too carried away though we should see how NFL players stack up to similar demographics.Electromatic wrote:Did Leonard Little kill someone in a DUI too?Green Habit wrote:Aaron Hernandez and OJ Simpson are the two others that came to my mind. The hit on Rothlisburger in the 1st Q tonight should never be a penalty. Ever. Or just make QBs wear flags.
Crown of the helmet in the chest face up heads up but mostly arms and shoulder tackling not like James Harrison It got flagged because he hit him hard period.
Not a good call.

The officiating was awful last night and it highlights what will kill football over the next 20 years.
Football is an inherently violent game that is going to be turned into a two-team pilow fight over who can hold onto the ball the longest without getting tickled.
