Injuries cause players to miss time all the time, why not serious off-field issues? Next man up, deal with it. The Vikings got it.

Shades of Patriots-Ravens with the coordinator timeout call in the Jets-Pack game.

Yep. Pretty standard for most 1st round picks in the new CBA, and pretty much always for the top 5. The Redskins can also give him a 5th year option that I believe is also fully guaranteed if they do, but given the past few years that may be a difficult thing to do.

And on that note, I'm seriously starting to consider that a major negative for mobile quarterbacks is that they are going to get injured more frequently. You look at the long starting streaks for QBs and except for Favre they're all pocket passers. This is especially troubling with RGIII in particular, he's had injury problems dating back to his time at Baylor. It's a shame, because I think he can be an excellent pocket passer if the coaches can save themselves from putting him at risk.

Oh man, I didn't realize that Marty Mornhinweg was the one who called the timeout that wiped off that Jets game-tying touchdown. How does that compare to taking the wind? He's like the Leon Lett of coaches.

packers would've easily marched with 4 minutes left and kicked a FG as time expired

It definitely felt like the Jets were running on fumes at that point.

I agree, but still, that's just brutal for a guy associated with blunders. Also, Mike Pereira said in this video that Rex Ryan did a similar thing as defensive coordinator with the Ravens. I can't wait to see what headline the New York Post will concoct.

The time out blunder is probably a blessing in disguise for them. It'll draw attention away from the fact they they imploded after going up 21-3.

I didn't remember that was Ryan, but that makes it that much sweeter.

Yup, while the QB needs to shuffle around the pocket better and that requires more mobility than the traditional QB, there's no room for success for an NFL QB that's better with his legs vs. arm. I'm looking at you Vick, RGIII, Johnny Football, etc., etc.

Every highlight you see with him getting pressured, he's lying face down and looks like he just got shot. Even on the play where Clowney got hurt.

They did. I wasn't surprised they won, figured it was a tough game with the heat and a quality opponent on the road.
