you're right. Red Dot is maybe the thing in the PJ catalog I despise the most.

The rest of it ranges from okay to pretty great.

I think most cases of pearl jam having fun sound like someone looked up the word fun in the dictionary and, not knowing quite what it is, set out to recreate it.

At least in the 90s.

"Low Light" is one of my favorite of Jeff's contributions to the band. Beautiful song, with some really inspired playing by Jack in the studio version.

It's probably my favorite acoustic-based song of theirs. Up there with "Strangest Tribe" and "Fatal". I find it very evocative and rich with colors and elegant playing. Definitely one of their most thoughtfully-crafted studio tracks.

And again, the great Jack Irons. What he does in this song is what I love about what he brought to Pearl Jam. Very expressive drumming.

I will say that it can be a bit of a trainwreck live.

Low Light is amazing. Not much to add, and I can't describe what it sets out to do, but it does it perfectly.

Low Light is a wonderful song. If I ranked them it'd still be dead last, that's how good the other songs on Yield are.

Great song.It doesn't lend itself well to the live setting though.
Always thought it a bit of an odd man out on Yield. More a mellow No Code vibe to it. Wonder if it was leftover from those sessions?

Low Light is just beautiful..is a calm, evocative song that develops into something really moving.
The acoustic intro is stunning, with Eddie´s quiet vocals, like someone who is just in peace with itself.
The part in the 2 minutes mark, with that strange noise, the piano, those guitars...great, great production.
Its one of my favorites from this album.

I really like Low Light too. It's probably a middle of the pack Yield song for me.

when I first heard low light I thought there was an extra strum or something. like they made each line of music too long. or like climbing stairs and being really surprised there is another step. it's hard to explain.

Lowlight is a beautiful song, one of my favorites from the album. Its one of those songs that sounds so right when driving on an open road in the middle of nowhere.

Most of the song is in 3/4 time, but there's an extra beat at the end of some measures in certain parts of the song, shifting briefly to 4/4. I think it works really well and gives the song this off-balance feel, like it could collapse at any minute. And then it does, after the solo, and it rolls back up.
