My lineup will remain the same, I'm from the Francona school of managing.

Off topic but.......What is the Red Sox opinion on Francona? I get the vibe you guys don't like him. He did win the World Series (twice) there. With 93 wins per year in 8 years he did a damn good job. He's doing pretty well in Cleveland too. I think they have a real good shot next year in the central.

They were supposed to be in real contention each of the last 2 years, and haven't been.

and they won't be next year. Just stop it.

I don't recall them being on the radar last year. Kluber has obviously developed nicely and if Bauer continues to as well thats a pretty nice top of the rotation.

Just stop what? Haha I hardly have a dog in the fight.

Terry Francona is the greatest manager in the history of major league baseball.

He's the best manager the Red Sox have ever had, far and away.

True. I was pulling for the Red Sox in 95. Saw that team play live a few times that summer. Really liked Mo Vaughn, Wakefield, Luis Alicea (I was a second baseman at this time so I really liked him), John Valentin, etc. I hated those Cleveland teams.

Mike Maddux was on that team and I was worried the Red Sox were going to snag him from Texas when Francona was let go. Obviously worked out for Boston. Maddux probably ends up the Astros manager next year. Maybe ATL.

A bad season next year (missing the playoffs) and I assume he will be let go.

He's had one winning season as a manager and it was a fluke year.

I am going to try to run game one in the early/mid afternoon, but there's a chance I may not be able to do it until the early evening. Just a heads up.

I tend not to put a lot of stock in a manager's record because it has so much more to do with the players on the field. Having said that, John Farrell is a giant douche who has no concept of on-field strategy and seems to have learned nothing over the course of his first few seasons as a manager. I hope he gets fired from his Dream Job soon, but I expect the World Series will buy him some extra time.

His in game strategy leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm willing to give him another year.

I will say though, Farrell is embarrassingly out of his depth when managing under NL rules.
